Ubisoft unveiled a gameplay walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the next game in the series that will immerse players in the chaos of 16th-century Japan, today at Ubisoft Forward. The game, which was developed by Ubisoft Québec, will launch globally on November 15th on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, Macs running Apple software through the Mac App Store, Windows PCs via the Ubisoft Store, and Windows PCs through the Epic Games Store. Additionally, Ubisoft revealed today that the game will launch later on the iPad.

In the gameplay walkthrough mission presented at the conference, Naoe and Yasuke are on the quest for a corrupted daimyo in the Tamba Province’s castle town of Fukuchiyama. The two playable heroes—Yasuke, the combat-focused Samurai, and Naoe, the nimble and sneaky Shinobi—have a complementary dynamic that is demonstrated throughout the gameplay. Initially fighting on opposing teams, they will come together in support of shared objectives. Players will be able to swap characters at any time in the open world and use their special combination of skills and weaponry to tackle situations and fight a variety of opponents in different ways as they usher in a new age for Japan.
- The epitome of a Shinobi Assassin is Naoe. She has access to an extensive toolkit to strike from the shadows, including a multipurpose grappling hook that enables more stealthy in-air assassinations and increased mobility, as well as kunai and her unique Hidden Blade for quick eliminations. Despite being more vulnerable at close quarters, she is still able to evade opponent attacks and strike back with deadly accuracy, using the light, her surroundings, and nearby objects to bring her enemies down.
- Yasuke is suited for close quarters combat, depending on his superior fighting abilities and command of Samurai weapons. He can take on numerous opponents at once, whether he chooses to use the devastating Teppo flint gun, the Katana for decisive attacks, or the Kanabo for sheer force.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-order is available right now. On November 12th, players who purchase the Collector Edition, Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, or have a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription can play the game three days early. Every pre-ordered edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will come with one extra quest for fans.
