The top three Slayer Masters are Konar, Nieve/Steve, and Duradel. All of them have their inherent pros and cons, so which one is the best one to stay under? Well, that depends entirely on your focus. Do you want to earn Old School RuneScape Gold (OSRS gold)? Want variety in monsters you slay? Or do you just want to max level slaying for the sweet Slayer cape?
We’ll be detailing each master as well as their advantages and otherwise. It’s up to you to choose which one will serve as the best for you.
Konar
To have her as a master, you need a combat level of 75 first. She has the distinct advantage of being the most profitable master. She’s the one who gives players a chance to get Brimstone Keys in any task she assigns. Also, she gives out the most points among the three, making her a good choice when doing milestones for the skill.
Her drawbacks include having a specific area or dungeon you should hunt in as well as a rather secluded location. She has the least number of ways to reach her quickly. Lastly, she gives the lowest Slayer XP for her tasks.
Nieve/Steve
Due to her involvement in the quest Monkey Madness II, Niev will be replaced by Steve if you’ve completed it. She requires a combat power level of 85 and is the middle ground between the three. Compared to Duradel, she has a bit more variety in her tasks. In terms of XP, she gives more than Konar, and about the same as Duradel.
However, she gives out the lowest amount of Slayer Points for her tasks. You can raise it by completing the Elite Western Provinces Diary. That puts her points on par as Duradel.
Duradel
The last and hardest Slayer master, Duradel, requires a Slayer level of 50 on top of a combat level of 100. Then to actually get to his location, you should also have done the Shilo Village quest. There are quite a few ways to get to him easily. While not as profitable as Konar, he offers the best amount of XP and points.
While you can’t raise the points he gives out by doing a quest, he’s a good all-around Slayer master worth his requirements. Some may say he’s the best master, though ultimately, that’s up to you.
Conclusion
To lighten the burden of going back and forth after completing tasks, you can use the Lunar spell “NPC Contact” to talk to any of these three masters. Of course, that requires the completion of the Lunar Diplomacy quest as well as the related runes.
Finding the best fit for your preference depends on what you want to achieve. Is it to gain profit, level up as a Slayer, or get those sweet rewards? If it’s the former, go with Konar. The second, Nieve or Duradel. The last, go with Duradel or Konar. Once you’ve chosen your priority, you should be able to choose which one of them you’ll train under.
Enjoy leveling up the Slayer skill!
