Cancelled LucasArts Darth Maul Game Video Appears Online 1

According to the latest issue of GameInformer, LucasArts and Red Fly Studios worked on a third-person action game, which featured Darth Maul as its central character for eight months prior to it being cancelled.

The Darth Maul game was originally set out to be exclusive to Nintendo platforms, but LucasArts decided to move development to PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U. Red Fly Studios then began to develop prototypes in October 2010, but had to change direction when George Lucas pitched an idea where Darth Maul teams up with Darth Talon for a “buddy cop-like experience”. Darth Maul and Darth Talon are separated by over 100 years of Star Wars fiction.

Red Fly Studios began to develop the mechanics that were based on Lucas’ suggestion and, at one stage, LucasArts even considered buying the Studio. Then, the game was later cancelled in 2011.

What did you think of the video? Are you disappointed that the Darth Maul title was cancelled?
