We have had many DC-based games, most of the latest DC games leaving aside the LEGO games have been more mature in terms of genre, but publisher Outright Games and developer PHL Collective are coming up with DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, which will feature some of the important members of Justice League, including the DC’s trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
The game is fully voice acted and includes Nolan North for Superman, Diedrich Bader as Batman, and Vanessa Marshal as Wonder Woman. During the preview event, due to some technical issues, the audio wasn’t properly heard but going through gameplay gave a good enough glimpse of what should be expected from the game.
DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos starts with introducing the Justice League members, which is ruined by the entry of Mr. Mxyzptlk, a powerful prankster from the 5th Dimension. Mxyzptlk is more of a trickster and has a presence in Superman comics.
The gameplay allows players to control the trio by swapping between them, only one superhero available at a time from the start. Each of the characters has separate attack patterns and skills, like Superman has heat vision, Batman has his gadgets, and Wonder Woman has her lasso of truth. Depending on the mobs/enemies and situation, players are freely allowed to swap between the three. Also, to mention after a bit of tutorial or prologue part of the game, players will have the whole open world to explore and have different traversal options available depending on the character and fast travel points.
Each character has their own skill trees, as well, that allows the player to use different skill trees to invest in depending on the play style.
Overall, DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos seems like a great fit for the younger generation but, at the same time, will intrigue the adults long standing DC fans as well, due to the gameplay and interesting art direction.
DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos will be available from March 10, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, and Steam.
