Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Preview for Steam

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment, focuses on the prequel to A Plague Tale. The first thing players will notice is a focus on more action and player agency in regards to customization in the form of equipment. And another major thing to mention is a change in setting from the previous one set being based off of Medieval Europe, while the new one is based off of the Ancient Mediterranean. This change does not extend to just the setting, but it also extends to the gameplay as it has gotten a lot closer in comparison to the previous game. Other than that, players will need to be focused as the combat is a lot more focused on close quarters action with very little room for mistakes. This game is ambitious and there will be glitches at the start and with the start of any new game there will be glitches. However, overtime the game will run smoothly if any bugs or glitches were to occur if they are game breaking to say the least.
For the gameplay the team shifted their focus to a more action-oriented game that focuses on taking fights more head on as opposed to fighting people at range. This new instalment in franchise makes fighting feel a lot more personal by shortening that distance. While this might be a bit of a change for people who are accustomed to the previous game to a degree, players should think about how the change impacts their tactics and how they will play. However, there is still a technical range option in the form of a grappling rope allowing players to shorten the distance if an enemy is too far away. Other than a change in combat, players will still need to solve some puzzles and these can vary in terms of difficulty, but with a little bit of critical thinking most players will be able to solve them easily. To cut things short the game’s genre is worn on its sleeve which might upset some people due to action and the focus on that. Aside from combat and puzzles, the game focuses on equipment and throughout the game as long as players find them throughout the various levels the player encounters.

With the setting of the game changing, this allows players to experience new lands and adventures for players to encounter and enjoy. Moreover, while this might be a bit disheartening for players who want further details as to the previous game in the form of what happened next or afterwards. The new game Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy focuses on a new setting allowing players who are unfamiliar with the previous game to jump into the game without too much of an inconvenience for them to learn more of the lore regarding the game. This ensures that everyone is more than welcome to play the game as with any narrative driven based game especially if it has other installments players might feel burdened by the task of combing through wikis and YouTube videos.
Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment should be happy that Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy finished development to the point of an official released. The combat is well developed and focuses on providing the players the necessary information for them to get better as opposed to other games that handhold you to an extensive amount. Other than that, the game feels a bit rough for players if they have weaker machines, and will need to upgrade to a stronger computer/laptop to truly enjoy the game. Aside from that, the game runs well enough with some combat portions being a little off especially in some part by a few seconds. I am looking forward to the full game’s release and what the team will be making in the future.

I would describe myself when interacting with games as a strategist with a pension for stealth and loud explosions.
