A Little Shop in Squirrel Town, developed and published by Superluminal Cat, is a fun adventure/role-play game where you become a shopkeeper of a grocery shop in a little place called Squirrel Town. Your role is to wear many hats in this town, including running the shop, replenishing your stock, selling your stock, cooking food, as well as killing and feeding monsters in order to ultimately save Monster Forest that is currently being controlled by the evil crystal.
Each day you will be able to collect ingredients, shop at the market, engage with agriculture, attract customers and network with other shopworkers in Squirrel Town. Expanding your shop will give you more access to ingredients and open up more doors in Squirrel Town, attracting more customers. You can also collect rare ingredients and collect magic crystals in Monster Forest. But make sure to keep an eye on the time in Monster Forest, because if you stay too long, there will be a greater influx of monsters coming your way!
I enjoyed playing A Little Shop in Squirrel Town, and there were new quests almost every day in the game, as well as new chances to collect ingredients and kill monsters. Some of the quests were difficult to figure out at first, since some of them were kind of vague in their descriptions, but once I got the hang of how the game worked, the quests became easier to pin down.
However, one thing I wasn’t particularly fond of was that almost every time I completed part of a quest, I would have to complete another quest to fulfill the rest of the previous quest, and they kept stemming off of each other, which was kind of confusing overall.
A lot of the actions in A Little Shop in Squirrel Town were trial by error, but overall, most of the game was easy to navigate. My favorite part was probably killing the monsters and receiving ingredients and magic crystals upon their demise. There’s just something so satisfying about getting gifts for killing monsters that touches my soul when I play a game like this.
Since the game is in Early Access, I’m interested in seeing how the rest of it plays out. The graphics in this game were really “cutesy” and anime-like, which really fit the bill for the game. Even the monsters were “cute” looking, but they were also vicious in their attacks which made it an odd, but satisfying combo. I would definitely recommend A Little Shop in Squirrel Town to anyone who likes role-play and adventure games, and who is looking for a low-key one with some added in monster hunting.

I have always looked to gaming as an outlet outside of my everyday life and a way to experiment with playing different types of games and take on new and exciting characters with different backgrounds. It's kind of like getting to become a new person every time you play a game.
