A Record Amount of Independent Game Submissions Received for gamescom latam BIG Festival

The largest gaming event in the world, gamescom, is making its way to Latin America. In its inaugural year, gamescom latam BIG Festival has already shattered the record for independent game submissions, having received registrations for 922 games across eight different platforms and 74 countries. 474 of these entries come from games played in Brazil.

Compared to the 626 games registered at the gamescom latam BIG Festival 2024, 287 more games from 55 different nations were submitted for evaluation. There were 538 games that were registered for the 2022 edition.

The gaming community and industry continues to grow not only in Brazil, but around the world. Therefore, we want gamescom latam to be the home of this segment, and we are very excited to see that independent game registrations have been increasing year after year, proving that the festival brings a great legacy and generates visibility.”

The first round of tickets is currently on sale. Attendees can buy tickets good for one-time visits on Thursday, June 27, Friday, June 28, Saturday, June 29, or Sunday, June 30, or they can buy a combo ticket good for all four days of the event (Thursday through Sunday). The first wave of tickets cost R$ 150 for a full ticket, R$ 75 for a half-price ticket, and R$ 530 for a full ticket or R$ 265 for a half-price ticket for single days.

For those who would like to donate R$10 to AbleGamers Brasil, an NGO that fights social isolation and supports accessibility through games, there is also the option of purchasing a social ticket. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased by anyone without requiring any documentation or collecting donations; the donation amount will be added to the final ticket price. The cost of a single social ticket is R$95, and a combo ticket that includes four tickets (valid from Thursday through Sunday) is R$345.
