We previously covered A Total War Saga: TROY’s Mythos Expansion that added a bunch of new mythological twists to the already existing game, where players can actually play the same story with gods and monsters included in the mix. A new update has been added for A Total War Saga: TROY, which adds two additional heroes to the mix, Rhesus and Memnon. Both of the famous figures are actually part of Troy’s story.
Rhesus is a mighty warrior from Thrace. Rhesus’s campaign adds a new resource called devotion, which can be obtained by Thracian rituals, which is used in a variety of bonuses including access to elite units, settlement bonuses and army buffs. Rhesus mostly has an army of warriors without shields, and mostly focuses on very offensive tactics and gameplay. Rhesus’s main goal is to seek out and unite the various inter-warring Thracian tribes and unite them under on banner. This adds Countless Host, which provides in summoning powerful host armies.
On the other hand, Memnon is a horde tribe from Aethiopia. Memnon was a warrior king. Most of Memnon’s campaign was that there is no settlement of their own, whose camp moves together, and only focuses on razing other settlements. Memnon’s tribes focus on war spoils.
A new unique feature Memnon’s campaign has Pharoah’s Servant. Allows you to unlock territories held by Pharoah in the whole map and thus allows Memnon to reinforce his rank with soldiers. Unlike other heroes in the game, Memnon does not have spies, so there are Camp Followers features that allow Memnon to provide buffs and other benefits.
Memnon and Rhesus provide their own unique campaign experiments that differ from the other heroes but it is only good as it lasts, as sometimes the pacing and difficulty feels high and may make players lose interest. Overall though, both Rhesus and Memnon provide a very new and unique gameplay experience to the already amazing A Total War Saga: TROY and Mythos expansion, and are definitely going to attract the players back into the game. I would rate Rhesus and Memnon expansion, 6 stars out of 10.
