We checked out B.Ark during GDC with Tic Toc Games, the developers of the Adventures of Pip. B.Ark also known as Bio-Interstall Ark, a space shoot’em up adventure.
B.Ark provides some interestingly cute animals as the main characters with some interstellar ship and embarks on the journey to defeat the alien army in space. Players will be able to play either single player or as a 4 player co-op. The game allows you to select the cuddly animals and put them in space pods, with each character having different specialties.
Each level the players will be able to accumulate some collectibles that levels up your characters temporarily and allows you to utilize more powerful skills. Most of the game is shoot’em up and players will have to get used to doing game mechanics as every level the players start from scratch and use the shooting and dodging mechanics based on the enemy patterns.
Each level will have some sub-bosses and final bosses and players will be put through some test of skills based on how good you are with the gameplay mechanics. There is no linear story element per say as it is more of a fun arcade style game, but does includes some background story from time to time to keep player connected to the characters.
The art and gameplay looks amazing and fluid and Tic Toc has used Unity Engine for the development. We have seen the first demo last year and the updated demo in GDC 2021, gives a huge improvement to the game and technically the players will have fun time playing together.
