TORONTO, Canada – Neon-tinged bullet hell shooter Blasters of the Universe, from Entertainment One’s (eOne) Emmy Award-winning studio Secret Location, receives the free-to-play weekend treatment on the Oculus Store. Those using the Oculus Store can battle nerd-turned-evil-god Grand Master Alwyn and his relentless waves of harrowing minion hordes for free, starting Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. PT until Sunday, May 5 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Blasters of the Universe features a fluid combat system where players must physically duck, dodge, twist and turn their way through the onslaught of bullets in this nostalgic and heart-pumping VR shooter. Players can personalize combat styles by using a customizable weapon with over 130,000 possible loadout and blaster combinations to whoop ass any which way they please. Sadists left feeling in need of more challenges after completing the Campaign story mode can fully embrace bullet hell with the Endless mode’s race to high-score heaven. There’s even a far easier Casual mode for those a little less in tune with the ways of Alwyn’s Inferno.
Once the free weekend ends, players can continue their fight against Alwyn by purchasing the game on HTC VIVE, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR for $14.99 USD. The game is rated E10+ for fantasy violence, crude humor and mild language.
