Bluey, the popular character among kids, has finally come out as a game thanks to developers Artax Games and publisher Outright Games.
Bluey is a popular animated series among all age groups but especially amongst the children. Bluey: The Videogame is a 2.5D video game that consists of 4 different levels and consists of 4 episodes. The overall look and feel of Bluey: The Videogame is so close to the actual animated series, that it brings a lot of kids to play around with the game, and finally gives them a chance to explore the amazing world of Bluey.
Bluey: The Videogame starts off with introducing the environment and quest to hunt pieces of map, and different treasure to collect around the house. And the backyard is also explorable as part of the house, where there are a few scattered collectibles here and there. Once the introductions are completed, the players are provided with the option to explore or continue with the story. The exploration is something that kids would definitely love to do instead.
There are additional few map parts of each episode, playground, creek and the beach. As the story progresses while collecting the maps, new maps are introduced, where it is a similar experience to either find collectibles or find the objectives. Overall, making the game to be completed in under 1 hour. Some of the collectibles are also providing some head gear to the selected character and you can interact with other selectable characters.
Bluey: The Videogame also provides multiplayer co-op that allows parents and kids to play together. This allows the family to play together.
On the downside, the game does have some very rough edges when it comes to some gameplay movements, and also brings some repetitive aspects which repeat all over different maps. Depending on the age group, this might not matter.
Overall, the game has some great appeal for children as the aesthetics of the game that it brings it to life from the original animated series including the vibrant colors, and does include some original soundtrack from the game. Short story and repetitive quests including some technical issues does hold the game from reaching its full potential, in my opinion.
Bluey: The Videogame is available for $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
