I have to say that Cultist Simulator by Weather Factory and Playdigious is a weird but amazing card game. This game will give us a completely new journey which is much more difference than any of the desk card game that we met before.
The background is not a dungeon anymore; we were born in England in the 20th century. At very first we will act as an aspirant – “Alone in this chilly city, with my useless education, and my dreams. What now? Could I become something more?” The only thing we have is “mental employment,” after you select it into work section you will gain funds and health. It sounds really confuse but this is exactly how this game works; you need make a living, find a way to gain more funds to support your daily life.
We have 4 different basic cards at the very beginning stage: health, passion, reason, and funds. And, different sections that we can put all these cards in: work, study, explore, and dream. There will be more sections that jump out during your journey, time passes will consume your money this is the only one will always be there, and the rest of them are some emergencies. Some popup events, you need to put correct card to increase or decrease the level of impact to yourself.
The main part of Cultist Simulator truly starts when we explore the bookstore in England. We then can use fund to buy the book we need to set up the cult. After that we can persuade people we know to join our cult. There are more elements added into the game. We can send our believer to some special place to find some rare card. We even can explore our dream – meanwhile, we need to avoid the police and hunter to find evidence. After we cumulate enough belief, we can successfully finish the game.
The game mechanics is the most attractive part for Cultist Simulator, but it also can be the reason people stop playing this. You need to be creative to find the different ways to combine all the cards. For example, if you combine three reasons then you can become an artist and gain fund by drawing. Meanwhile, you need to have imagination, after all what you can see is just a bunch of cards. The imagination can help you to build up you own appealing story.
Since this is the first time that Cultist Simulator publishes on Nintendo Switch, I am a little bit worried about whether it can adapt to mobile platforms. The Switch version integrates different cards and modules together, although it has less freedom compared with PC, but it is just that you cannot arrange the layout of all modules according to your own wishes. This integration can even increase our efficiency. But the disadvantage of this change is that if there are more emergencies later, we may be in a hurry to deal with all of them.
The biggest characteristic for Cultist Simulator is that it’s time consuming. Like I said before, if you are the type of person who is full of imagination and creation, you will have much more fun through playing this game. But if the opposite is the case, reading large paragraphs of text may quickly make us lose interest in playing. And most important, Cultist Simulator does not have any specific guidance as you need to explore how to survive and achieve the final objective.
In conclusion, Cultist Simulator is a fantastic journey if you are a card game fan. As long as you clearly understand all the mechanisms in the game, I believe you will be able to enjoy it!

Nintendo Switch Review
I'm a graduate of Columbia University. The Game, never just entertainment in our leisure time. More like an attractive book, lead us to a fantastic adventure; a good friend, sit down having a deep communication with our spirit. Explore more, happiness is just the most basic benefit that games can give us. Personally, I enjoy every type of game, but especially I love ACTs(e.g. Sekiro, Dark Souls, Devil May Cry, etc.), I like that you overcome any difficulties by ourselves, and feeling about how I grow up with all the techniques learned from gaming. The world in the game also attracts me, stops our step, and looks around, the beauty of the world often lets me forgot I am playing a game. The last wish every gamer "Good luck, have fun!"
