Dark Eclipse is a Playstation VR game by developer Sunsoft. It is the first ever game that brings MOBA gameplay into the VR world.
Gameplay:
If you are not familiar with the term MOBA gaming, it stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, also known as action real-time strategy. Some examples of this type of game are Command and Conquer or a more current example would be Clash Royale. In these games, you are given different types of characters that you control in order to try to defeat either an AI or other players online. Dark Eclipse takes this type of gameplay from a once flat world to an amazing immersive VR world.
In this world, you are able to move around the map in a way you never would have been able to before. This VR world allows you to push in and get a closer view of the battlefield. You can move the map up and down or side to side to get a better vantage point of your troops and the enemy troops.
In the world of Dark Eclipse, you have the options of choosing from 15 different leaders, a.k.a heroes and dominators. Each leader has soldiers who follow them around. Every leader has his own abilities that give it a unique advantage. Each game you play allows you to select three leaders to control.
Selection of these leaders is crucial to success, just as important as the formation of your teams will determine your chances of victory on the battlefield. Just picking the strongest leaders isn’t enough, if you have ever had a friend who buys a really fancy computer and shows it to you and they don’t even know half of the things it can do you know what I am talking about. Having the right leaders on the battlefield will mean nothing if you do not know how to use them.
This game requires real-time strategy to win as wells as the ability to adapt as your opponent attacks. Building the most buildings and having the most troops will not ensure your victory. Knowing what foes to take on first and which to save for later will be a huge part of your gameplay. Attacking small eaters in the game will give you a different advantage compared to when you attack a legendary eater.
Dark Eclipse has so much more than just battle; there are quests you can do to unlock more abilities and leaders. You can check your profile to see your progress in the game. The more you play the more you can do as this is an ever-evolving game that I see myself continuing to play. The only thing that may bug you is that the main menu screen requires you to use your dualshock controller, so you will have to switch between controllers between gameplay and the menu screens. I would say that is a first world problem, considering the game is free to download I would say sit back relax and enjoy the world of Dark Eclipse.

DARK ECLIPSE is available now to download for free on the PlayStation 4 Store. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and is playable with either DUALSHOCK 4 or PlayStation Move controllers.

You can hold the PS button, go to Sound/Devices, turn off DS4. Then you can use the Move controller to navigate the 2D menu instead. This is a much requested feature since closed beta, and the dev put that in.
