Discolored 2 Preview for Steam

Discolored 2 is a game that is scheduled to be released via Steam in 2023. This game is a first person adventure puzzle game where all the colors of the world have gone missing due to an evil organization. By using your skills to solve the puzzles, it is the player’s job to find and protect the colors before an evil organization trying to get rid of the colors gets to them. I really like puzzle games. They hold a soft spot in my heart, which is why I was glad that I was given the opportunity to play a preview of this game. My impressions of this game is that I would say they are on the right track for development.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Discolored 2 is a puzzle game where the player will have to interact with their surroundings to be able to progress through the game. The game is about how color has disappeared from the world. The player will play as a woman in red who is on a mission to try and get the color back into the world. While the woman is trying to get the colors back, she gets followed by a man from an evil organization who is looking to stop the colors from ever coming back. For controls, the player just uses the arrow keys to move (WASD) and the mouse to interact with their surroundings.

The puzzles are the main part of the gameplay. The player must solve puzzles to gain colors back. Most of these puzzles consist of using different items and colors to progress. Some of these items can include things like keys to get through locked doors. Others can include items to help with electrical problems. There are even cases where players will have to use the different colors they gain in order to solve the puzzles. While solving these different puzzles, the player will occasionally be stopped by the man working for the evil organization who are trying to take the colors away. This will challenge players to solve puzzles in a certain amount of time and react under pressure. The puzzles go from pretty easy to pretty difficult. This is something that I personally like. I feel that with this mix of difficulty, it will be able to balance itself out. Discolored 2 looks pretty well visually, and it gets better when the colors get restored.

Final thoughts

Overall, I believe that the game Discolored 2 is heading toward the right direction in terms of development for the game. I feel the puzzles have a balanced difficulty with them. The game looks visually pleasing. From what I have seen and played, this game looks like it can do pretty well and I hope that development for this game continues to go well and becomes even better when the game officially releases next year.
