Check Out the Dying Light 2 Stay Human – Let’s Talk About Parkour With Tymon Smektała:
In a new interview released today (seen above), Dying Light 2 Stay Human’s Lead Game Designer, Tymon Smektała, explains how parkour in the open-world action-RPG sequel is designed to be thrilling and realistic while compensating for the limitations of players in a video game.
Dying Light 2’s in-game gravity is set to 9.8 m/s^2, the approximate acceleration of free-falling objects in the real world. Leaping, falling, and free-running in Dying Light 2 feel appropriately realistic as a result, but with a limited in-game field-of-view relative to our natural human vision, extra steps were taken to make players feel comfortable and empowered.
In addition, check out the final episode of Dying 2 Know alongside a new gameplay trailer, “The Reason”.
