DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, the first installment in the DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series in fifteen years, will be available globally on October 11, 2024, according to a statement released by Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. DRAGON BALL: Energetic On PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, ZERO is currently available for pre-order in digital and physical formats as Standard, Deluxe, Premium Collector Edition, and Digital Ultimate Edition. A newly-unveiled game mode called Episode Battle was hinted at in the new trailer that aired during the Summer Game Fest livestream. It showed off an authentic and graphically gorgeous continuation of the BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series. Players can choose from eight different characters in Episode Battle and relive important Dragon Ball epic battles. Along with Goku (Super), Ultra Instinct, Gohan (Adult), Super Saiyan 2, Golden Frieza, Bardock, Raditz, Goku Black, Zamasu, Jiren, Full Power, and others are revealed to be new additions to the playable character roster in the latest clip.

Additionally disclosed for DRAGON BALL: Sparkling! A new aspect of playing Dragon Ball as a game is introduced by ZERO, Custom Battle, where players can make their own battle scenarios and share them with the world, or they can try their hand at a match that the makers have created.
DRAGON BALL: Energetic Standard Edition and premium editions of ZERO are available:
- The Standard Edition, three days of early access to the game, and the Season Pass with over twenty characters—including those from Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO and Dragon Ball DaIMA—as well as the Shenron Summon that may be used to acquire things are all included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. There’s also early access to DLC characters.
- The Deluxe Edition material and the Ultimate Upgrade Pack, which includes the Goku (Super) Costume with Power Pole, one Emote Voice Set, one customization item, and two player card backdrops, are both included in the Digital Ultimate Edition. Super Shenron can be summoned in this version in order to unlock characters or items.
- The Collector Edition comes with a Metallic Bookmark and a special DRAGON BALL: Sparkling! ZERO diorama in addition to the contents of the Digital Ultimate Edition.
- A SteelBook, four unique cards from the DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World, and all Collector Edition features are included in the Premium Collector Edition, which is only available on the Bandai Namco Store.
Pre-orders will grant early access to all of the following in-game characters: Broly, Broly, Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Broly, Full Power; Gogeta, Gogeta, Super Saiyan; and Gogeta Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. A playable character that will be revealed later is also featured.
