Just days from the release of HUMANKIND, Amplitude Studios and Sega have one final big debut to make! For the first time, they’re showing more about what the Late Game, and specifically the modern era (WWI through today) will look like in the new video (seen above).
In HUMANKIND, the turn-based historical strategy game coming to PC and Stadia on August 17th, players will incarnate a leader of their creation and guide their people through 6 eras of human history.
The developers wanted to make sure that the late game was immersive and captivating, and today’s video covers features like modern trade, research and national projects, air warfare, and even nuclear weapons. When a nuke is fired, the opponent will have one turn to respond, setting up the stage for possible mutually assured destruction. Pollution is a new feature as well. It will start in the game in Era 5, and nations will have to decide whether and how to work together to bring it to heel.
So, will your world settle on a delicate balance of nuclear superpowers? Will you expand the boundaries of human knowledge? Will your people be the first to set foot on the Moon or even Mars?
HUMANKIND is available for pre-order on PC & Stadia. The game will now also be available for Microsoft Xbox Game Pass from August 17th.
