It’s a WarioWare: Get It Together! Themed Tetris 99 MAXIMUS CUP Event

To celebrate, a new Tetris 99 MAXIMUS CUP will give you the chance to earn an in-game theme based on the one and only Wario and his WarioWare : Get It Together! game. With the Tetris 99 game on the Nintendo Switch system, you can now get a taste of mayhem from the minds at WarioWare, Inc. Especially Wario’s brilliant mind, because no one compares to him. BWA HAHAHAHA!

The Tetris 99 24^thMAXIMUS CUP event runs from 12 a.m. PT on Sept. 17 to 11:59 p.m. PT on Sept. 20. Show those Tetriminos who’s boss and prove you’re worthy of the attention of the head of WarioWare, Inc.! Use your wit and smarts to triumph over your opponents, and you can snag an event theme to proudly show off to anyone. Even Wario might be impressed … but probably only a little.

Now, on to some important business details. As Wario would say, “PAY ATTENTION!”

To participate, Nintendo Switch Online members* just need to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match. Once players have accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by WarioWare: Get It Together!

Nintendo Switch Online members can also enjoy online play and the Save Data Cloud feature in a large selection of compatible games, along with access to over 100 classic NES and Super NES games, a smartphone app that enhances features of supported games, and the competitive online game PAC-MAN 99. After four decades of iconic gaming memories, PAC-MAN is back in the maze, ready to hunt down those ever-elusive ghosts. But this time, you’ll be competing against 98 fellow players to emerge as the last PAC-MAN standing.
