KUR is a simply made first person shooter game, by developer Really Ragdoll and publisher The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, that is full of raw action. You play as a person that just signed a contract to work for the evil Augmented Intelligence Corporation on top of that they also own your thoughts now. It is now your job to fight your way through enemies to obtain items that the corporation needs as well as clean up some of their messes. All the while uncovering secrets of your own that may shed some light on this whole situation. There are many difficulties to choose from if you want a little easier of a game to play or a harder experience, either way though the game is full of chaos and action.
When you start the game, you are talking to a man who has you sign a contract that basically hands over your rights and thoughts to the Augmented Intelligence Corporation. Your character signs the contract without reading it and then you are immediately brought out to your first mission. Dropped off on a strange planet where you have to break into a building and find your way through, on the way you find a boot that gives you some extra abilities. You can kick enemies and break down doors as well as jump really high and bounce off walls. There is also an upgrading system for the boot where you can make it stronger, or take up less energy when it’s used, and more. The gameplay is pretty smooth and simple moving around and shooting enemies, the added mechanic of the boot makes for a fun twist as well. The story and dialogue are funny more than anything, even just the intro scene is really antic and out there.
KUR is made to be droll and full of raw action with some comedic dialogue mixed in, and while I understand its appeal, I do have a few issues with it, taking into account that it’s in Early Access. For one, the graphics are rough and hard to look at, where some areas are a lot worse than others like the underground places. The enemies are repetitive and they seem to just like to add more quantity of enemies rather than new ones that are stronger and more diverse. Another issue I have is there isn’t a lot of direction and I got lost a lot. There are many times where you are just wandering around trying to find the way while mindlessly shooting or getting mobbed by enemies. The only thing that makes the wandering a bit worthwhile are the secrets you can uncover, but even some of that is just there without purpose. I understand the appeal for a game that is just raw action and shooting, but it’s just not a kind of game that I enjoy playing a lot.
KUR is a fast paced first person shooter game that mixes in some antic dialogue and story. The gameplay is smooth and has some interesting features to it, as well as being full of raw action. The graphics of the game are really rough and the levels are confusing at times as well as the enemies being pretty repetitive. All in all, KUR is simple and serves its purpose as a fast paced shooter game. While KUR has a few kinks, I understand the appeal of this game to others even if I don’t enjoy it as much.

I enjoy a wide variety of games from intricate survival/adventure games to simple platformers. I am also a sucker for a good story game.
