Samurai Shodown by SNK is a competitive fighting game, and the first mainline game since 2008’s Samurai Shodown Sen.
Samurai Shodown is back after 11 years of gap and it’s much bigger and better. We had the opportunity at PAX East 2019 to get our hands on the game , along with the quick discussion with Producer, Yasuyuki Oda, Lead Artist, Nobuyuki Kuroki, and Game Designer, Josh Weatherford. We discussed how the Samurai Shodown is more of a reboot to the whole series and how they wanted to bring the game back to its core and roots.
Included in Samurai Shodown are some new special skills that can be used only once per game and some advanced techniques, including the dodge and deflects. We believe that any player who is a core player of the series will be excited to play this game as it brings a lot of new action and techniques. We had a great time at the SNK booth at PAX East 2019!
Samurai Shodown is coming out this summer on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a Nintendo Switch version releasing later this year.
