PUBG MOBILE eSports has revealed that PUBG MOBILE, the world’s most watched battle royale eSports game, will join the inaugural eSports World Cup as it searches for the first Club World Champion this summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the all-new PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC). The tournament replaces the PUBG MOBILE World Invitational as the premier summer PUBG MOBILE tournament, seeing the world’s top players compete for a $3,000,000 USD prize pool.
A first-of-its-kind competition, the eSports World Cup is an eight-week festival that brings together a mix of platforms, genres, and fans for the largest-ever celebration of gaming as a global sport. The tournament will help foster cross-game competition, connecting the audience to their favourite titles and new opportunities for fandom, and facilitating world-class tournaments in dozens of titles.
“Our midseason tournament has always been a fan favourite, bringing the world’s best players together in summer for an action-packed event that always provides excitement, drama and amazing stories. That’s why we’re so excited to have the PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) be part of the Esports World Cup, it will mean an even greater competition for PUBG MOBILE fans. This won’t be a tournament to miss!” James Yang, Senior Director of Global eSports Center.
