Rage in Peace is developed by Rolling Glory Jam and Published by Toge Productions. As the name suggests, the game is all about the Rage and Death of the main protagonist, name Timmy Malinu.
Rage in Peace is about a normal guy who is emotionally dumb. One day a grim reaper comes to him and tells him that this is his last day of life. There was one wish that Timmy had, and that was to die sleeping in his pajamas on his own bed. And to fulfill that he went away but the road back is not easy. Every step is a trap or death of someway. Initially, we do not know what is happening, but we kept on restarting after we die, and then after you escape all the traps at a certain point you get to the first checkpoint.
As the game’s name says it all, Rage In Peace is all about the rage we get from continuously being defeated by traps. But then the grim reaper gives us the additional skill of double jump. That is all the game has in terms of gameplay, one is the reset to last checkpoint and double jump, that is all you need to get through the game. At first I had no idea what was going on or what was the reason the Grim Reaper was helping, but overtime, the reason gets clear of how Timmy has been dealing with certain problems in his life and why Timmy was eager to just die as he could not find the reason to live, or any kind of purpose. One of the great things about the game is the art of the game, and animation movements. Also this game is about people fighting with depression and other similar conditions.
After going through a bit of the story the details get cleared out as to why the grim reaper is helping out. Also, meeting a lot of other characters in the story helps Timmy regain a lot of things about his life and we get to know why Timmy has been feeling the way he was feeling and all the emotions come back to him. The way the story and game have been designed is such a pleasant way. The way all the music and soundtracks implemented in the background was a great experience as well.
Overall, I would say the game is a worth playing. Be prepared to be enraged at some points as well as experience some great moments and self-realization about life itself. I would give Rage in Peace 8.5 stars.
