The popular MMORPG, Runes of Magic, celebrated its 15th anniversary this week. To mark the occasion, Gameforge announced the release of a new Timeless Dungeon – an updated version of the Mystic Altar, specifically designed for endgame players. In April, players will have the opportunity to take on the thrilling challenges that this new dungeon has in store for them.

Shadows Over the Altar Dungeon
The primary focus lies on the revamped version of the Mystic Altar, which now features seven unique bosses. The Runes of Magic team has also redesigned the dungeon’s structure to challenge even experienced players, forcing them to experiment with different strategies. In addition, there’s now an NPC located next to the existing “Peak Hunt NPC” that acts as a portal, allowing players to access these timeless instances.
New Equipment
The new dungeons have been designed to attract returning players and provide them with exciting challenges. Additionally, players can collect new equipment that can be used to further develop their characters and prepare them for future challenges.
In the Timeless Dungeons, players will find a well-planned reward system that seamlessly fits into the existing equipment setup of Runes of Magic. They have the opportunity to collect a brand-new equipment set through multiple instances. These items can be obtained either through drops within the instance or via Peak Fragments. A new daily quest will introduce Peak Fragments.
“After the huge success of the first iteration of Timeless Dungeons, we’ve been working hard to enhance the experience for the 15th anniversary of Runes of Magic,” says Patrick Mathieu, Runes of Magic Product Manager. “We’re confident that this new content will delight both longtime fans and returning players who now have an easier time getting to higher levels thanks to the changes we made in preparation.”
