Season Kickoff: Amateur Gamers Overwatch Grandmaster Tournament!

Get ready, gamers: this weekend kicks off the official season for the Amateur Gamers Overwatch Grandmaster Tournament! This year, we have lined up the best teams and players from both North America and the EU for the ultimate summer showdown (check the bottom of this article for a full list).

Some of you die-hard fans already know that we had a pre-season battle this past week, with Team E.D.G.E beating the runner-up Omen Crusaders and coming out on top in North America. This came as a surprise to many, as the team was a fairly unknown wild card before the fight. All of the team members performed strongly, but Snake127334 (E.D.G.E.) was an especially astounding DPS player. He has made a star debut and inflicted some serious damage early on in the season; we will definitely be keeping an eye on him as the season progresses. Meanwhile, the Osh Tekk Warriors earned a strong lead in the EU league, with Emergence EU coming in second place. In terms of individual team members, FANKDA (Osh Tekk Warriors) is extremely well-known in the EU, and he lived up to his big reputation in the pre-season as one of the most skillful players. Another brilliant performance came from Abotrend (Osh Tekk Warriors), who showed that he is not one to be messed with as a Zenyatta player. Even with the top DPS players coming at him, he was able to outmaneuver his way to victory.

All of the battles so far have been exciting, but the action is just getting started. Make sure you tune in this Sunday, July 8th for the first day of the official season!
