It looks like developer Ubisoft’s upcoming major titles, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 or The Crew will not be available for purchase on Steam in the UK.
The developer announced that the only way to get digital copies of those games is through Uplay.
While Ubisoft did not give a specific reason as to why these major titles will not be available on Steam in the UK, they dead speak to PCGamesN, but only about Assassin’s Creed Unity,
“We’ve been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK.
“In the meantime, UK customers wishing to purchase the game digitally can do so by visiting the Uplay store, our retail partners or other digital distributors.”
If you purchased keys through other websites such as GamersGate or Green Man Gaming, don’t worry – they will all be redeemable on Uplay as well. Ubisoft has set a £50 price tag for any of those games.
What are your thoughts about Steam being unavailable for these major titles?
