The first DLC of seven has arrived for Shadow of Tomb Raider. The Forge adds a side story to the game, and mainly focuses on Abigail. To get the mission,
The game pretty much starts from the point just before starting the last mission.
The story is pretty much simple, where Abigail’s grandmother left her a map with some clues to find the truth about herself. Lara helps her out with this. Overall this DLC is short and can be completed in about 1-2 hours. The things we do in this game is discover hidden artifacts left by Abigail’s Grandmother in two different Mayan ruins and completing a tomb in the end.
The Forge finally brings us back to the wonderfully created world by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, which is based in Peru. It does brings us back to the game even though the trilogy of Lara was over but the exciting stories about the Peruvian world have not stopped yet. The DLC has some great puzzles and challenging tombs. The only battle throughout the whole DLC is
. So overall, this is more of an exploration DLC. One of the great thing about The Forge is that it has some great visual and puzzles inside the tomb. This time around we go through some lava caves. The internal of the tomb is amazing with some great mechanics build up inside those caves.
Overall, The Forge is a great way to get back into the game even though the story is not too great, but it is not on the bad side as well because of the tombs and great Mayan ruins. I would give The Forge 7.5 stars.
