“With our next Battlefield game, the DICE team brings combat intensity to life in a new and unexpected way,” EA chief executive Andrew Wilson said in a sales pitch. “Each fight is unique, and each mode has its own challenges, from the way you interact with your environment, from stories that work for a single player to the next multiplayer scale that covers multiple cards and modes.”
Wilson went on to say that Battlefield 2018 – to be developed in World War II – will learn what made Battlefield 1 a great success.
“It will be a complete and comprehensive shooting game and a continuous service that will evolve with new experiences that are important to our community from the start,” he said. After the success of Battlefield 1 and drawing on the central DNA DICE, this new game will advance the state of the art of the franchise while signing the game and Battlefield moments that have captured and evolved our global community.”

During a question and answer session with investors following EA’s earnings report today, CFO Blake Jorgensen said EA is not afraid to launch the new game.
