PLAYISM, in partnership with Vaka Inc., is proud to present an update to Touhou Luna Nights, the Team Ladybug title currently available in Early Access. In this huge update, Stages 2 and 3 have been made available.
Touhou Luna Nights – Stages 2 & 3 Update Contents
This title is a 2D action-exploration (Metroidvania) game featuring beautifully animated sprites. The main character is Sakuya Izayoi, brought over from the popular Touhou Project series. Use Sakuya’s power of controlling time to search for a way to escape from the strange world to which her mistress, Remilia, has sent her.
The new update adds Stages 2 and 3, along with various new gimmicks such as “Red Mist,” which renders Sakuya unable to use her powers of stopping time when touched; Purple Auras, which continue to move even when time is stopped; Green Auras, which only move when time is stopped; and more. Other additions include new attacks such as “Thousand Daggers” and “Chainsaw,” as well as skills like double-jump and the ability to ride upwards on flying knives. With these latest additions, the areas which you can explore have been expanded ever further.
As many Stage 1 players have requested the addition of a Hard Mode, the difficulty level for Stages 2 and 3 has spiked noticeably, and you’ll need to take full advantage of Sakuya’s abilities in both exploration and battle alike.
Another popular character from the Touhou Project series – Marisa – makes an appearance as the Stage 2 boss. Her famous “Master Spark” has also been recreated for the game as a special attack. This special attack will dazzle you with its brilliant sprite animation. Painstakingly crafted and remade, it’s definitely worth a look. Taking on the role of the Stage 3 boss is Patchouli, friend to Sakuya’s mistress, Remilia. Tossing out all sorts of magical attacks, the battle with this powerful witch provides a real sense of achievement once cleared.
Additionally, high attacks and button assignment – which were also requested by a large number of Stage 1 players – have also been implemented. Further additions include “Nitori’s Shop,” which can now be used to restore power and upgrade status anywhere, and which also provides another opportunity to utilize collected Gems.
Taking advantage of Early Access, Team Ladybug has been hard at work listening to players and adding onto this wonderfully detailed, ever-evolving game, so pick up this latest update to enjoy some good old action-exploration.
