Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro have released all-new details on the upcoming TRANSFORMERS Trading Card Game’s first expansion, their METROPLEX Deck! In addition to new cards in the deck, fans can also look forward to utilizing the Metroplex card that is 200 mm in height – nearly 8 inches tall!
“The character METROPLEX is a Titan – he converts into an entire city and towers over most of the other giants of the TRANSFORMERS universe. Keeping that in mind, we knew that METROPLEX deserved an even bigger card than the game’s standard oversized character cards,” said Drew Nolosco, TRANSFORMERS Trading Card Game Brand Manager. “The METROPLEX character card is 200mm tall – almost 8 inches. Whether in bot mode or alt mode, METROPLEX is one of the biggest TRANSFORMERS characters around, and now he has a suitably Titan-sized trading card.”
The METROPLEX Deck will see the AUTOBOT Titan enter the TRANSFORMERS Trading Card Game’s ranks for the first time, but he won’t be alone. During the game, players will be able to use the METROPLEX character card to deploy his three component bots: SCAMPER, SLAMMER, and SIX-GUN.
About the Transformers Trading Card Game
The TRANSFORMERS Trading Card Game is a fast-paced trading card game inspired by the iconic TRANSFORMERS brand. Players build a team of TRANSFORMERS character cards and power them up with a customizable deck of battle cards. TRANSFORMERS character cards are huge – character cards in the AUTOBOTS Starter Set and Booster Packs are twice the size of standard playing cards, and can be flipped from bot mode to alt mode and back – and feature premium printing treatment on one of their sides. The deck of battle cards features Action and Upgrade cards to enhance TRANSFORMERS character cards. Designed for players ages 8 and up, TRANSFORMERS Trading Card Game products will be available for purchase in the United States beginning on September 28 and in certain other markets beginning later in 2018.
