The sweet smell of mangoes and the clinking glasses of margaritas: ah, tropical paradise. At least, that’s what tropical islands should be. But not in Tropico. Tropico is an island of potential chaos and destruction so tread lightly on this dangerous soil! In Kalypso Media and Limbic Entertainment’s Tropico 6, players will indulge themselves in an intense simulation of trade, diplomacy, and so much more, yet again proving that Tropico is a one-of-a-kind series. If you are down to test your political power and challenge the limits of your leadership, give Tropico 6 a chance -it will probably become your next obsession.

As a major fan of the Tropico series, I was beyond ecstatic to hear of the upcoming release of Tropico 6. For two long years I have been anxiously awaiting another Tropico game. From campaign to multi-player, I’ve participated in every available feature the Tropico series has to offer and from what I was able to surmise thus far I can, again, confirm Tropico reigns as the most consistent game series of all time! Kalypso Media and Limbic Entertainment have done a superb job not only living up to the hype but completely exceeding my expectations as a player! Even just at first glance, players will agree it has been worth the wait; the time spent perfecting Tropico 6 has not gone unused.

The realism graphic approach taken by Kalypso Media and Limbic Entertainment is extremely effective and consistent with the Tropico series. Small details like shadows and glares really enhance the illustrations and allow players to immerse themselves in the game. For a simulation such as Tropico 6, this is not only ideal but necessary!

Although Tropico 6 is a highly complex game the screen layout is well-organized and manageable. The always-visible objectives ensure players stay on-track while their mandate lasts. Despite the easy navigation I typically find myself fooling around in the sand-box so I can learn the screen layout before I dive in and get too serious. Even with a tutorial it is helpful to familiarize yourself with the locations, icons, and overall movements of your screen and mouse! I suggest players take a moment to follow my lead and do the same thing! Like any simulation game, the best results are yielded from patience so don’t rush in!

Players will be astounded by the customization features in Tropico 6. From character to palace, players can customize more than ever before. For newcomers this is just as impressive as it is to long-time fans who will marvel at the new ability to alter your palace. Although they seem minor from the surface, these improvements are significant because they allow players to really immerse themselves within the game and feel a sense of entitlement to their throne.

If you want a simulation game that gives you a tangy taste of diplomacy, I guarantee Tropico 6 is the perfect game for you. As a long-time fan of the Tropico series I can say with great confidence this is a truly excellent addition to the series. Every moment has been worth the wait and you will not be disappointed by these lively graphics and abstract concepts!

My name is Haylee, but everyone calls me "Haylz". Gaming has been a passion of mine since my grandma bought me The Sims for PC and my love for gaming flourished from there. Currently, I'm a Senior studying English at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi and spend most of my time gaming and leading my school through collegiate competitions as President of the eSports club! Despite being a dedicated vegetarian, my favorite games tend to be First Person Shooters and I'm naturally drawn to blood and gore! Chances are, if you can kill in it, I'll play it... I just won't eat it (unless it's a Fallout perk)!
