Rainbow Six Esports launches their North American League along with updates on the upcoming Six August Major 2020

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 25, 2020 – This week, Ubisoft launched their North American League for Rainbow Six eSports, part of four regional leagues making up a global program competing towards the prestigious Six Invitational. Rainbow Six eSports premiers their new Rainbow Six Circuit with a partnership with FACEIT, along with sponsors CORSAIR and Acer Predator.

PRIZE POOLS

The prize pool for the US Division’s premier season is $250,000 USD. The Canada Division’s premier season will have a $90,000 USD prize pool to claim.

The US Division Challenger League will have a $54,000 USD prize pool, and the Canada Division Challenger League will have a $18,000 USD prize pool.

UPDATE ON SIX AUGUST 2020 MAJOR

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and as the health and well-being of our teams, developers, players, partners, and audience is our first priority, we have taken the decision to switch the format of the Six August 2020 Major from LAN to online.

Throughout the entire month of August, online events will be held across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific to provide a change for teams to prove that they are best in the region. Rainbow Six Esports fans can already mark the dates, the schedule for each of the regional events is as follows:

Asia-Pacific: August 3 – 9
Latin America: August 7 – 9
North America: August 14 – 16
Europe August 20 – 23

The North American Region will see 4 teams compete online in the Six August 2020 Major. At the end of Stage 1, the top 3 US Division teams will be invited automatically to join the Major. The 4^th team will be selected through a North American Qualifier opposing the 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th ranking teams of the US Division and 1^st place team of the Canada Division. Based on their performance during the online event, the teams will get a share of the $125,000 total prizepool.

For our revamped online Six August 2020 Major, each region will run its dedicated format, tailored to the structure of its league. More details on the specifics of the formats and schedules will be shared by each region later on.
