Blizzard has issued a warning for World of Warcraft users about a “dangerous Trojan” that is being used to compromise player accounts, bypassing the firm’s authenticator that is being used for protection.
The Trojan acts in “real-time” by stealing both player account information and the authenticator password upon being entered.
Blizzard stated,
“We are currently looking for more information on the Trojan. We have not been able to locate any anti-virus programs that will remove it besides just reformatting your system.”
Just in case, do not click any links sent by “Blizzard” which end up in your email’s spam folder.
