NOTE: Slight Spoilers
Mothmen 1966, by developer LCB Game Studio and publisher Chorus Worldwide Games, is a suspenseful and very creepy and interesting story that got me curious about the pilot and what it is the game trying to tell us. The visuals of Mothmen 1966 make it more realistic on what the creators are trying to explain to others in order to make it fun, but also scary and mysterious.
The game takes place in 1960’s where there are three characters from this story that you can choose in the game. I started off with the character, Lou, who is a paranormal investigator and owns a gas station. When Mothmen 1966 starts, it takes place at the gas station that begins with something scary and paranormal that happens outside. The three men enter for directions to another location, but then make a deal with Lou by using a deck of cards. All of the sudden they leave, which makes Lou confused and got me thinking about why the chapter ended at this point..
Another chapter takes place, in the same setting, in the gas station where a couple named Lee and Victoria go to the gas station and do what couples do in the car. They also get the car fixed and meet with Lou for help. Then a stranger comes up to Victoria to talk about a monster that he finds with a unique twist. Mothmen 1966 keeps going on with mysterious and paranormal activity, which makes me wonder what scary thing is about to come next in the game.
Mothmen 1966, overall, has interesting turn of events when it comes to a narrative game, where you can choose your own adventure. The game has very interesting sound effects when it comes to making a game that takes place in the mid 20th century. In addition, the character design looks very realistic for that decade.
The game, to me, was a little bit dull at some parts – the pixel music of the game somehow made it not that suspenseful in order to make the player want to feel terrified.
The storytelling was overall good on how is it played when you choose your story, and that a new narrative game can be different and more engaging.

I would recommend Mothmen 1966 to anyone who loves a good story, and for anyone who loves suspense or mysterious genre games and wants to be freaked out and frightened, but in a good way.
