Disgaea 7 Complete Review for Nintendo Switch 2

Disgaea 7 Complete – Nintendo Switch 2 Review

After a couple of experimental entries, Disgaea 7 Complete is a massive, explosive comeback. It brings back fan-favorite features, adds some wild new mechanics, and feels like one of the most polished games in the series. For newcomers, it’s a wonderfully absurd strategy RPG; for veterans, this is the Disgaea you’ve been waiting for.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless Review for Nintendo Switch 2

The story is set in Hinomoto, a demon realm that’s a twisted take on feudal Japan. You follow Fuji, a demon who’s allergic to feelings and only cares about cash, and Pirilika, a rich fangirl obsessed with Bushido. This unlikely pair teams up to overthrow a corrupt government, and the journey is packed with the witty dialogue and hilarious characters the series is known for. It’s pure, goofy fun.

At its heart, Disgaea 7 is the same awesome grid-based strategy JRPG fans love. You summon units, pull off team attacks, and toss your allies (and enemies) around the map. The big new thing is Jumbification, where your characters can turn into giants and completely dominate the battlefield. It’s a super fun mechanic that adds a great risk/reward dynamic to fights.

Beyond that, the grind is back and better than ever. The infamous Item World returns, letting you dive into any item to power it up. Character reincarnation is back, and tons of quality-of-life updates make building an absurdly overpowered team a blast. With 45 character classes, a level cap of 9999, and endless customization, you can pour hundreds of hours into this game without blinking.

On the Switch 2, the game looks great. The character sprites are sharp, the over-the-top animations are flashy, and the whole thing is super colorful. It runs pretty well, though you might see a few frame drops when things get really crazy on screen. The soundtrack rocks, and the voice acting is top-notch in both English and Japanese.

Disgaea 7 Complete offers a solid experience for series veterans, but its steep learning curve and demanding grind may alienate newcomers and lead to a loss of interest over time.

Disgaea 7 Complete is an amazing strategy RPG. It’s a fantastic starting point for newcomers and a perfect return to form for fans. The gameplay is deep and funny and will keep you hooked for ages. If you want an RPG for your Nintendo Switch 2 that you can really sink your teeth into, this is it. I would definitely give this 8 stars out of 10.
