Tabletop Game Shop Simulator, developed by Ludogram and Knight Fever Games and published by the latter, is to showcase that miniatures are a part of the simulation games that have grown in popularity.  This is seen in most game stores nowadays, having various franchises from Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and Dungeons and Dragons as various shops promote the tabletop game.  Moreover, this aspect of play is an integral part of the gameplay loop presented in the game, allowing the player to obtain and paint various figures in the game.  This is in addition to store management that comes with the territory.  This game focuses on the miniatures that are present in game stores nowadays, as the hobby has grown in popularity over the years.

For those who are familiar with TCG Card Shop Simulator, the overall gameplay loop should feel familiar.  However, in Tabletop Game Shop Simulator there are some extra gameplay features that try to set it apart and make it a better representation of what can occur in game stores across the world.  Where store employees will engage in the game and teach players the game themselves or participate in tournaments or fun casual games.  So, players will need to manage managing a store and balancing profit margins to stay in the green. Players will need to make purchases on products, shelving units, and other custom items that they can use to make their store unique.

This allows players some much-needed agency for a game, especially when trying to get as close to real-life store product placement and furniture, which is quite important for both the customer and employees. By allowing players to customize their store, it ensures that no two playthroughs are the same by the end, where the player has accomplished their goal of making their own game store.  Players will need to decide on what to stock the store shelves with depending upon what their customers want and the needs of the stores.  An example of this is when the player buys paint supplies and brushes as customers start using the painting table more, generating a passive source of income necessary to pay off bills and stock equipment.  Adding onto that, the player can also use the painting table and paint some miniatures and sell them as well, or use those said miniatures in games.  These small gameplay elements add some much-needed nuanced variety in a small but impactful way, as what kind of miniature-based game does not allow players to have the agency in customizing their units?

The whole concept of the simulation genre of games is that the player creates their own narrative as to either make cars or make a successful business.  So, there is no need for the Tabletop Game Shop Simulator to have a narrative to follow except for the one the players made for themselves.  This allows for a high level of player agency, ensuring that players are able to decide on what to do for themselves.

Personally, I would like to see TCG Card Shop Simulator and Tabletop Game Shop Simulator make a collaborative game to truly showcase the full game shop simulator game.  As the combination of both games would allow for players to truly experience the game shop simulator.  As most game stores nowadays have varying products to ensure that they have a large customer base to ensure that they grow as a community.  When the game gets further updates, it would be nice to see further expansion, maybe like a second floor or a satellite shop that the player can access and grow.  By allowing for expansion, the player can overcome greater challenges in growing a tabletop shop empire.

Tabletop Game Shop Simulator will launch for PC via Steam Early Access on November 12, 2025. You can wishlist the game right now as well as play the demo.
