AZUR LANE by YOSTAR Announces Closed Beta

Invitational closed beta test for new shoot-em-up game to launch August 2

Hong Kong – Are your sea legs ready? Following a successful pre-registration period, game publisher Yostar has announced that the Closed Beta test for its popular oceanic battler, Azur Lane, will take place from August 2 to August 9 in the United States and Canada. For those who cannot wait for the Open Beta test, they can win one of a limited number of invitation codes for the Closed Beta test via events on Azur Lane‘s Facebook and Twitter pages. All players will receive super-rare battleship girl Avrora in the open beta version.

Pre-registration is still open for this 2D naval warfare side-scroller. Thus far, more than 30,000 players have signed up for the Open Beta test coming soon. Players can check the pre-registration link for limited in-game rewards.

Players who receive an invitation code have a lot to look forward to, including a wide variety of period-accurate ship types, numerous gorgeously rendered characters, five different nations to fight against or ally with, and even the ability to create your own battleship girls.

For example, Akagi and Kaga are two powerful aircraft carriers from one of the major nations, Sakura Empire. The two are popular with players for their performance in battle, distinct personalities, and special connection with each other. And the Destroyer Laffey, hailing from another major nation, Eagle Union, is also very popular, in part because of her cute appearance and two bunny ears.

Azur Lane features an interactive combat system that combines the best of strategy and 2D shooter games. Players must command a flotilla, divided into two parts: the Vanguard Fleet and the Main Fleet. While the Vanguard is responsible for striking and clearing operations, the Main Fleet must focus on fire support and dealing damage to enemy ships. Strategy is key, and players must build their fleets carefully to succeed on the high seas. Players can strengthen their fleets from the base via the Academy and Dorms, where they can earn experience points, buy items from the shop, or improve their skills in the Classroom.
