DOME KEEPER Review for Steam

A bug’s only duty is to ensure that his home is not broken in and how to survive in a glass home without shadowing monsters destroying the dome in the dark world of this game. Dome Keeper, a 2D action and adventurous roguelike game, by developer Bippinbits and publisher Raw Fury, explores the underground setting and collects items but also protects the bug and the dome without glass breaking and monsters coming into the place.

DOME KEEPER Review for Steam

Dome Keeper starts out with picking a dome and equipment to set up in order to explore the bug’s journey. After you select everything that you need, the story will begin as a spaceship crash lands in a mysterious alien landscape in the middle of nowhere. You will soon be able to control your character by exploring the underground world trying to collect as many resources as you can to upgrade your weapons and your defense as much as you explore. But when the shadowing monsters happen all of sudden, you have to go into the machine and control the laser to kill those monsters. After all that is done, I had the option of fixing my glass dome. The problem was I didn’t have that many resources left so when I explored underground again more monsters were coming by to destroy it and when I was done, my glass dome was like 90% about to be ruined. But finally, with enough recourse, I was able to fix some of the glass domes as best I could and kept exploring with the option of making a dinosaur creature to help me dig. Unfortunately, more monsters came, the glass dome was destroyed, and it was game over for me.

But when I did more rounds of Dome Keeper, I was able to gain more knowledge and better equipment to keep my character and the dome as steady as I can to make sure that this doesn’t happen again, as long as I kept getting all the resources and upgrading my laser and defense. Plus, even if the game is over when my glass dome is broken, I can buy new equipment and new engineering equipment for me when I get a better score.

Dome Keeper had a really good action quest game and l liked how the shadow monsters looked that made me want to continue playing more with the developer’s creativity, with the audio, the design, and what the goal of the game was to make this playable and fun for other players like me.

A great combination of roguelike and mind strategy games are the art style and the gameplay of Dome Keeper.  This is what a roguelike game should look like when you are fighting with the shadowing monsters, but also gives the players the opportunity when the player is done killing the monsters. You also have the option to pause to buy resources to help the player rebuild their dome and upgrade the player’s weapons and defense. I would recommend Dome Keeper to anyone who loves roguelike games.

9.5/10
