A brand-new cast of friends who will accompany players on their journey through Dragon Age: The Veilguard, an all-new single-player fantasy role-playing game coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Fall 2024, was unveiled by Electronic Arts Inc., and BioWare. Building on the foundations that have made the renowned series so well-known, Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers a daring and valiant journey driven by deep storyline, deft and strategic combat, friends and camaraderie, and decisions that have consequences.

Players will assume control of Rook, the newest completely customizable hero in Dragon Age, and engage in front-line combat with an incredible group of heroes known as the Veilguard in this next chapter of the highly popular story. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a game about friendship, with each partner bringing unique motivations, backstories, and skill trees to the fight. In this story that will determine Thedas’ destiny for all time, Rook has to step up, organize a group, and build connections in order to become the unexpected leader that people look up to.

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, every comrade contributes their specialized knowledge to the battlefield, mustering the strength to unite against insurmountable challenges. In order to adapt to specific difficulties and form potent combinations that have the ability to swing the tide of any battle, players can switch up their team configurations during their adventures by pairing up two of the game’s seven total friends at a time.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard companions include:
- Bellara is a romantic and imaginative Veil Jumper who is driven to reveal long-forgotten mysteries
- Davrin is a charismatic and audacious Grey Warden who has gained notoriety as a monster hunter
- Emmrich is a necromancer from Nevarra’s Mourn Watch, and he comes with Manfred, a skeletal helper
- Dwarven scout Harding reappears in the battle as a friend with a ready bow, a big heart, and optimistic outlook in addition to her surprising magical abilities
- Lucanis is a cool-headed and practical assassin descended from the House of Crows, one of the most notorious criminal families in all of Thedas
- Cynic Neve is a private investigator and one of Tevinter’s rebellious Shadow Dragons, striving for a better future
- Taash is a risk-taking, adventure-loving dragon hunter who is associated with the Lords of Fortune
