Athens, Greece, 22nd May 2015. The Greek Gaming and Creative Technologies & Applications cluster organizes its first mission across the Atlantic to showcase its significant prospect offering. As part of its internationalization strategy, gi-Cluster sets off for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 EXPO 2015) in Los Angeles, 16th – 18th June. At booth #2459, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the creative minds behind the rising Greek industry, discover the dynamic performance of highly innovative cluster members and explore the steadily growing potential of this vigorous slice of Greece’s economy.
Over the last three years, the emergent gaming and creative technologies & applications industry in Greece has undergone major progress. Today, the industry is officially represented by the gi-Cluster, a world-class business innovation ecosystem coordinated by Corallia, comprising of 40 companies and 10 research & academic institutions, with over 20 collaborative product development projects underway and over 11 million USD invested in R&D during the past 24 months. Building on Greece’s brain power, the cluster aims at capitalizing on years of intensive development of the regional business ecosystem and growing it into a globally competitive force.
gi-Cluster was established in 2012 with a mission to become a fully functional innovation and business ecosystem. It brings together companies of all sizes, academic players and research bodies into a solid network designed to support viable industry growth and contribute towards placing Greece in the global chart. Its main geographical focus is in the region of Attica, Greece.
As part of its strategic focus gi-Cluster actively supports the bridging of Culture & Tourism with the gaming and creative technologies & applications industry, in an effort to leverage Greece’s competitive advantage and offer modernized content via contemporary delivery channels.
