Even though I am not a huge fan of NASCAR or any of the other race car leagues around the world that you can watch on TV, I am familiar with how a race car league looks like on the track as far as laps, mechanics, etc. I like the view of the popular races around the world. When I started playing NASCAR Rivals, the concept of my experience with this game felt like the racing games I played in the past and it made me want to keep trying and become the best of the best.
NASCAR Rivals started looking like a real racing video game that I sometimes like to play. I started out with racing mode just to see how the game is playable and picked out my racer whom I hardly recognized. I finally picked Stenhouse, Jr., and picked the Daytona, which is a race that I know is popular in the racing field. I started the race and had a good position and was doing my best to try and get to pass as many cars as I could to put myself in a better spot. Eventually, as I did what I did to try to gain a little more intensity with the race, I was able to get into 8th place, in the end, knowing that there is something in me trying to race others in a game like this.
As I got more comfortable with the game, I was able to play throughout more races and select players who are known as the best drivers in the league. I also became more familiar with the different tracks in each of the settings the game lets you select. When I found myself in a bad position, I was able to figure out a different way to put me ahead of everyone else in the race.
As a gamer who is not so much into NASCAR, I found this game impressive and fun to play when it comes to car racing games that people seem to enjoy and watch. I like the sound effects that make NASCAR Rivals feel like a real NASCAR race, and the gameplay was really exciting to do when you can buy a car and you can create your driver, which I like when I try to make my racer look like me.
The only thing I did not care for so much is the game picking a player out for me and then racing for as many laps depending on the track you are on. Also, there wasn’t much dialogue in NASCAR Rivals but the game does bring out great features to make yourself creative.
Overall, NASCAR Rivals was fun to race and was helpful to know help recognize what NASCAR is and make and choose the features of your character. I would recommend this game to anyone that loves NASCAR and racing games
7/10
