Introduction/Information about game
The game, Sands of Aura, by developer Chashu Entertainment and publisher FreedomGames, was officially released on Steam on October 27, 2023. This game is an open world RPG where players will enter the realm of Talamhel, where the soul draining Night Plague has plunged the world into a never ending sand oasis. I enjoy RPG games, as they are one of my favorite genres of games, so I was excited to see how this open world RPG would feel to play. After playing Sands of Aura, I believe that the game is a fun experience that many RPG players can enjoy.
Gameplay
The gameplay for Sands of Aura is a simple system that players will be able to understand. As players start the game, they will start by customizing their character. Most of the customization will have to do with how the player wants their character to look. Certain changes such as head shape, hair, body type, facial hair, etc. One big decision that players will need to think carefully on is their starting weapon. Each player will have to choose one starting weapon type. These starting weapons include weapons such as a one handed slashing with a sword, two handed slashing with a greatsword, dual wielding with swords, one handed stabbing with a spear, two handed stabbing with a spear, and glaive type weapon with a weapon that looks like a spear, but is not exactly a spear. After the player customizes their character and chooses their starting weapon, they will be thrown into the world and can start exploring. The basic controls of the game are simple. Players can attack enemies with their weapons. If they want to attack multiple times, they can continue the attack by pressing the attack button multiple times.
Next, players can dodge enemy attacks. If players hold the dodge button, they can run. Players also have the ability to heal, however they have a limited number of times they can do it. Finally, players can shield themselves from enemy attacks. If players can activate their shield during an enemy attack at the right time, they will be able to parry the enemy, leaving them open for an attack. With these basic controls, players will be able to explore the world and defeat their enemies. However, there is more that players can do to assure victory over their enemies. One of my favorite parts about this game is the customization that it offers the players in terms of gear and attacks. Players can create different character builds for different scenarios. Players will use everything at their disposal to explore the realm and defeat their enemies.
Final thoughts
Overall, I believe the game, Sands of Aura, is a fun and enjoyable open world RPG that many can enjoy. This game was very fun for me to play. I also found it enjoyable with how customizable the game was, giving the players plenty of control. If you are a player who enjoys fun, open world RPGs, with plenty of freedom in customization, then I would highly recommend getting this game.
