Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is the sequel to Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion and is a cute and fun 2D shooter game about robbing a bank as a little turnip, You play as Turnip Boy who has teamed up with the Picked Gang to commit more felonies by robbing a bank multiple times. In this game, you will shakedown hostages, steal precious valuables, find weapons, and use weird tools bought off the dark web to move further into the vaults of the Botanical Bank. Will you be able to pull off a successful heist as our little turnip friend?
When you start the game, you answer a few questions from three eyeballs, questions like if you have played the previous game and the playstyle you’d like to use in this game. There are two styles to choose from, playstyle A is for a more relaxed experience, and playstyle B is for a harder experience if you want a challenge. After answering the questions a fun cutscene plays, depicting Turnip Boy getting picked up by the Pickled Gang and going to rob a bank. When you get to the home base the pickle boss Dillitini gives you a rundown on how to play the game including how to attack and how to shake people down for their money. When all is said and done there you hop into the van and head to the bank where you are given two minutes to find as much money as you can and get out before the cops make it to the bank. You run around the first two rooms shaking down hostages and fighting security then you come up to an elevator that takes you to a random floor each time so you never know what you will get. There is more to the game than you can see at a first glance. You can buy things from the dark web, steal and upgrade weapons, get drugs to help you during the robbery, there are also missions you can complete for people in the bank, and there are different rooms with puzzles to solve. Each time you go into the bank is a new experience as there is a lot to explore and uncover in this cute little chaotic game.
Overall, there are not a lot of issues I came across in this game demo but there are a couple things that did stand out to me, though. In the settings, there is an auto fire button that a lot of games like these have but I could not get it to work no matter what I did. Another thing I noticed is that sometimes there are lag spikes, usually whenever you first enter a new room or when it is dark and the lights are off. Everything moves a lot slower during those times but that can easily be optimized before the full release. The last thing I’ll mention is that in the vault, I ended up getting stuck in a corner because I destroyed a file cabinet and it blocked me in the corner; that by itself isn’t necessarily a problem with the game, just something to look out for.
Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is a cute but also chaotic action game where you play as a little turnip who robs a bank, more than once. Shakedown hostages, steal precious valuables, find weapons, and use weird tools bought off the dark web. There is a lot for you to explore and uncover within the bank on your journey to commit crimes. Overall, this is a fun game that you can just relax and play and I can’t wait to see the full release later this year.
You can wishlist Turnip Boy Robs a Bank for PC via Steam. The game is slated to release this year.

I enjoy a wide variety of games from intricate survival/adventure games to simple platformers. I am also a sucker for a good story game.
