ZENITH Review for Nintendo Switch

ZENITH Review for Nintendo Switch

Zenith is a lighthearted Role-Playing Game for Switch, developed by Infinigon Games and published by Badland Publishing.

Zenith has a gameplay very much like Diablo. The game takes place in a fantasy world where we are controlling a character named Argus and there are elves who have cornered our protagonist. Zenith starts off with a short tutorial of the controls and about movement and combat. We then get to learn more about the controls gradually as we move on.

The camera feels like Diablo, which cannot be rotated around. And the game pretty much moves with the player with point of view angles. As the player moves on, you get to gather chests and equipment, and additional skills that can be used; there are basic movements like dodge, attack, and skill usage. The navigation of Zenith feels over the board as sometimes it feels tough to move to the objective locations.

One important thing about Zenith is that you can feel the difference by reading through the dialogues. Dialogues are frank, and our player, Argus, is like clown. It feels like watching an entertaining movie where you don’t need to worry about the story but just keep watching the things happening around. Yes, though it is funny and light, the game has a lot of conversations and it is annoying because that is one of the most time-consuming activities in the game and a player can get tired of it after a while.

The graphics feel like past generation and very simple in the age of advanced graphics. Zenith has a lot of issues though. Frame rate has a lot of drops and kind of feels really slow sometimes. The UI is created very basically because the colors are all over the place and sometimes the dialogues cannot be even seen. Battle has the player dodging by hit or miss because when fighting bosses, the mechanics does not seem to be properly integrated and the overall gameplay feels like it was just put together for the sake of game.

Overall, I feel Zenith has some humor but a lot of it feels like just an attempt to be comical and also it is plagued with a lot of issues with the graphics and gameplay.
