On June 30, 2025, Sandbox Interactive’s fantasy sandbox MMORPG, Albion Online, will launch the new Abyssal Depths update. In addition to introducing a completely new PvP element in the form of a completely new kind of dungeon, this update significantly overhauls the new player experience, making the game more approachable than before. Additionally, Albion Online released a new Dev Talk video today with Game Director Moritz Bokelmann that provides an overview of the Abyssal Depths upgrade.
A fast-paced, high-stakes battleground, this new type of PvP-focused dungeon pits parties of two or three players against monsters and other player characters in a collapsing environment full of tactical goals in order to acquire new and exclusive rewards.
How Albion Online presents itself to new players is the update’s other primary goal. The post-tutorial experience has been included into the current Albion Journal, which now offers a more clearer and more organized roadmap through the game’s early phases. This is one of the main modifications.
Abyssal Depths will also feature a streamlined HUD Tracker, more interactive tutorial features, and several quality-of-life adjustments to the early game flow, particularly in the areas of crafting, the Destiny Board, and building usage, to better mirror the Albion Online experience.
