Introduction/Information about game
Dungeons 4, by developer Realmforge Studios and publisher Kalypso Media, is a game that is planning to release via Steam on November 9th 2023. This game is a simulation strategy game where players will play as the Dark Elf Thalya, the servant of The Absolute Evil, and continue to triumph over the forces of good once again. I do not play many simulation games. However, I do enjoy strategy games quite a bit. As this game continues development, I would say that the game development for this game is on a very good track for release date.
Gameplay
The gameplay for Dungeons 4 is very simple and beginner friendly for new players. The game starts the player with a quick story of the game while also introducing the Dark Elf Thalya, the character the player will be playing as. The narrator will explain that The Absolute Evil is making his reign (along with his servant Thayla) and that there is still one area that is standing against the forces of evil. They are known as the forces of good and are run by none other than Tristan, who is Thayla’s step brother. Once the intro of the story finishes and the player understands what is happening, it is time for the player to start playing the game. As I said before, the gameplay is very simple and beginner friendly for new players. Of course, this means that the controls are very simple as well. To start, the player will need to left click on their unit that they control. If players have multiple units, they can click and drag to create a box that selects whatever units are inside. Once selected, the player will right click on the land to tell the player where to move. Alternatively, if the player sees an enemy, they can command their selected unit to attack that enemy by right clicking on said enemy. Starting out is as simple as that. While there are much more mechanics that are in this game, players starting out with the basics can be enough to get through the game. While playing, I found that my favorite parts of this game were the charm of the characters and dialog. I especially enjoyed the dialog from the narrator of the game, as his input when narrating the story is very funny.
Final thoughts
Overall, I believe the game Dungeons 4 is very good and on the right track for development and release. This game was very easy and very fun to play with a very nice charm that went along with playing the game. The narrator’s comments were very fun to hear as well while playing the game. If you are a player who enjoys simple strategy games with simulation elements, then I recommend playing this game. Players who want to play Dungeons 4 can pre-purchase the game on Steam and be able to play it when it releases on November 9th, 2023 .
