We checked out Interactive Ontario Booth at PAX East 2025 to test out a few games being showcased. Two of the games we tried were Endless Night: The Darkness Within and Verse VR.
Verse VR is an exploration game offering diverse and unique cultural experiences. Players can immerse themselves in culturally themed environments featuring scenic views, music, and interactive elements that provide information about culturally significant aspects. The African and Chinese experiences we sampled were particularly peaceful and calming, offering a very chill overall experience. Verse VR showcases original works by global artists like West African griots Sadio Sissokho and Aicha Sylla. Verse VR is launching on Meta Quest with eight unique artistic experiences.
You can wishlist the game on Meta.
Little Guy Games’ Endless Night: The Darkness Within is an interesting metroidvania action platformer set in a protagonist’s dream world where he battles his traumas. A hands-on experience revealed platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving elements that unlock the protagonist’s story. Players can explore and uncover the map, deviating from main quest markers to discover side stories. The game incorporates RPG elements, allowing players to equip gear that provides different stats and passive abilities. This game includes impressive maneuvering capabilities and small orbs. Interacting with these color-coded orbs allows for bursts of speed in either vertical or horizontal directions, that helps players reach distant locations or side paths.
There is no release date yet, but you can wishlist the games right now for PC via Steam.
