Iris School of Wizardry -Vinculum Hearts- Review for Nintendo Switch

Magic, mystery, and a taste of love: Iris School of Wizardry -Vinculum Hearts- for Nintendo Switch seems to harmonize all of these in one magical, story-book game. As players make their way through DIGIMERCE and OperaHouse Corporation’s whimsical simulation, they will fanaticize and wish they could be thrust in a world as dreamy as this one.

After a brief intro, players are given a chance to choose which character’s narrative they want to follow as their main route throughout the remainder of Iris School of Wizardry -Vinculum Hearts-. Depending on who they pick, the outcome of the game will be different, and along the way they will unlock unique scenes and scenarios specific to that individual. Between the characters I chose, I learned Iris School of Wizardry held some very dark secrets from their students!

The magical story will sweep players off their feet. Although some translations miss the mark, it is clear ample effort has been put into the content of DIGIMERCE and OperaHouse Corporation’s whimsical storybook game. As they progress, they can only dream of finding a love like these and hope one day soon a romance like one with Clyde will magically surprise them.

The whimsical graphics can’t help but send a feeling of exhilaration through the player. To create their Iris School of Wizardry’s magical world, DIGIMERCE uses a bright color scheme, soft highlights, and regal attire for their characters. Additionally, the first-person perspective is a unique touch because it makes the player desire the opportunity to join their character in this magical world.

This relaxing game allows players to enjoy the story while giving input at pivotal moments. Although there are not many moments for players to provide input, it isn’t exactly necessary to make many choices in Iris School of Wizardry -Viniculum Hearts-. Because this game is so heavily driven by the story, timing is perfect and quite unexpected sometimes. The one critique I would have, however, would be the clarity of these choices. In certain cases, their choices may be misleading, and I was disappointed with their results although the mystery was an excellent way to match the magical theme. This is not always the case so players should not be dismayed! I was pleasantly surprised with where the story went, and I can assure the player will be as well!

Even in the end, DIGIMERCE and OperaHouse Corporation remind you it is not the end. The true magic of Iris School of Wizardry -Vinculum Hearts- is its various paths which allow players to change every course and experience with every option the game has to offer! Whether it is the character you decide to follow or the choices you make along their path, the outcome will surely bring some interesting surprises. So, don’t be afraid to start anew after you are done and experiment with different people!
