Seed of Life, by developer MadLight and publisher Leonardo Interactive, is a fun story driven adventure game that is a bit rough around the edges. You play as a young girl named Cora who is the last known survivor of the dying planet called Lumia. The only way to save Lumia is to activate the seed of life so that the world can be restored. You must venture out and explore the perilous dying planet, overcoming many obstacles and puzzles along the way to restore your world, for you are its last hope. In the beginning of the game, you go through a long cutscene where the main character tells you about the world and what has happened to it. After the cutscene is over you start in a house where you ultimately decide that you have to go find the seed, thus starting your adventure in this dying world.
The story of Seed of Life is very interesting and compelling, and has some pretty good pacing as well. It gives you gradual information without completely telling you the full story in the beginning. The graphics of the game are also very nice, it is a little dark, but not so much in a bad way as it makes the lights of the plants all the more vibrant. They give off a good dark and mysterious vibe, along with the cutscenes that give you a nice look at the surroundings and where you are going. Another aspect of the atmosphere is the music and sound effects; they keep up the mysterious atmosphere as well as the adventurous state of the game. All in all, Seed of Life sets up a really good atmosphere and while it did make me want to continue playing I had quite a few issues along the way
Most of the movement is alright if a bit touchy; the main problem I have with it is the collision. There were areas that you could crouch under at one point but then couldn’t at another point, as well as ledges that should be easily climbable, but keep making you slide off. It made navigating through areas difficult at times especially in the areas that took away your health the longer you were in them. Not only was the navigation through the world difficult, but so was the actual progression of the game. There was some, but very little guidance on where to go and I often got lost along the way. It didn’t help that there were areas that I thought I could go through or around only to be stopped because the collision was so touchy. Another issue I had was the voice acting. The main character’s voice was very monotone and didn’t match the situations she was in at all, taking away from the story telling a lot in the beginning. I will say, though, you do kind of get used to it later on. Overall, I loved the atmosphere the game created, but there were also quite a few issues that could use some work.
Seed of Life is a fun action adventure style puzzle game that has an interesting story, but has quite a few problems as well. The developers do set up an amazing atmosphere with the graphics and story, but there are many issues with the gameplay itself that make the game harder to play. The navigation and collision along with the monotone voice acting take away from the game and the potential it has. All that being said, however, Seed of Life is not a terrible game, it is a bit frustrating at times but isn’t impossible to get through and is still fun to play. The developers just have some polishing and updating to do and this game could be a lot better in the long run. I’m giving Seed of Life a 6 out of 10 rating because even though it has many issues, it’s not a bad game and can certainly be fixed in the future.

I enjoy a wide variety of games from intricate survival/adventure games to simple platformers. I am also a sucker for a good story game.
