The third season of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 9, Operation Twin Shells, was unveiled by Ubisoft. The Greek Operator Skopós, the Siege Cup beta, and significant gameplay enhancements, such as enhanced anti-cheat mechanisms, are all new this season.
The revolutionary new Defender Skopós and her V10 Pantheon Shells device are unveiled by Operation Twin Shells. Utilizing her two remotely controlled robots, Talos and Colossus, as shells, Skopós can rapidly assign offensive or defensive reinforcement to various regions of the globe. Skopós is skilled at obtaining information and offering assistance even though she can only manage one shell at a time. One shell serves as an Operator, and the other as an Observation Tool. A P229 serves as Skopós’ backup weapon, while the new PCX-33 assault rifle serves as her primary armament. She is a two speed, two health Operator.
Through the Siege Cup beta, Year 9 Season 3 offers a thrilling new addition to the competitive Rainbow Six Siege experience. The most competitive playlist is called Siege Cup. Every two weeks, five-player squads battle for prizes in a skill-based ladder competition. Additionally, players can earn Competitive Coins to unlock season-specific unique goodies by taking part in Ranked and Siege Cup playlists. With major security measure enhancements, Rainbow Six Siege still prioritizes fair and strategic play. The second installment of Solis’ balancing update and adjustments for Attacking Operators Nøkk and Dokkaebi arrive with Operation Twin Shells. As of right now, only electrical gadgets in central view are detected by Solis’ SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor. Additionally, the Overclock function—which has limited applications, is always on, and notifies surrounding enemy Observation Tools of Solis’ presence—replaces the search for discovered devices. Furthermore, in response to player input, modifications have been made to Nøkk’s Hel Presence Reduction device and Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb.
Rainbow Six Siege keeps bringing fresh training and onboarding upgrades that bring back to its core tactical gaming experience. In addition to defending AI from Year 8 Season 4, Versus AI 2.0 allows players to defend bomb sites against a group of skilled AI Operators, offering a comprehensive training experience. The After Action Report 2.0 has undergone a comprehensive overhaul to offer a concise synopsis of the most significant and pertinent post-match data. Drones will also have a boost mechanic that speeds up navigation and enhances players’ intelligence-gathering abilities.
Rainbow Six Siege is playable on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Game Store), and PS Vita. A subscription to Ubisoft+ Premium is also available.
