Introduction/Information about game
The game ASTLIBRA Revision is a game that, originally released on October 13, 2022, officially released on Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2023. This game is a 2D action RPG where players can explore different worlds, fight different bosses, and upgrade one’s character to best fit their adventure and take down every enemy in their way. I enjoy action RPG games. I would go as far to say they are my favorite video game genre to play, so I was very excited to see how this game would play out. After playing ASTLIBRA Revision, I believe that the game is a very fun action RPG with great gameplay.
Gameplay
The gameplay for ASTLIBRA Revision is very fun to play around with. The player will have the option to start the game out with a small tutorial demo that will show the player what to expect, as well as the controls. The controls for the player are as follows. There is the basic attack the player has. Players can mash this to shred through enemies. Next, players can dash and jump when they need to. This will be needed for platforming to certain areas. Next up is the ability to shield enemy attacks. Players can use their shield or weapon to block attacks. If they press the attack button while guarding, they will be able to do a dash attack. The next ability players can use is magic skills. With the right stick, players will be able to choose a different magic skill to unleash on different enemies. Once players are taught the controls with the tech demo, they can start to play the game. As the player starts the game, they will be able to start exploring the worlds the game has to offer.
The game will also start the player out with different weapons, abilities, and equipment to choose from. There are a variety of weapons for players to choose from. Players have the choice between one handed swords to axes to long weapons. I personally enjoyed using long two handed weapons the most. However, players will be unable to use shields if they choose to use this. There are different shields that the player can use for a more suitable defense. There are also plenty of gear for players to equip to strengthen their character’s stats. This brings me to one of my favorite parts of the game. The level up system and character customization. As players level up, they will gain points they can use to level up their character’s stats. They can choose which stats they want to grow, giving the player plenty of customization and freedom. With plenty of customization, players will be able to shred through enemies how they see fit. Players will use everything at their disposal to complete their adventure.
Final thoughts
Overall, I believe the game, ASTLIBRA Revision, is a very fun and enjoyable game, with plenty of customization. If you are a player who enjoys action RPGs and plenty of freedom in customization, then I would highly recommend this game. Players can get ASTLIBRA Revision on Nintendo Switch, as well as Steam.
